About Thrwa: Our Story, Your Financial Wellness

We're more than a budgeting app; we're a team from Kuwait dedicated to solving the real-life challenge of managing money in today’s rising cost of living environment.

Our Story: Built on a Simple Idea

Thrwa was born from a frustration shared by many: managing finances shouldn't be complicated or stressful. We noticed that existing budgeting tools didn't fully adapt to the local environment, the rising cost of living, the structure of our income cycles, or the need to truly prioritize savings and investment.

Our simple, powerful idea was this: What if you could achieve a state where you are able to meet current and ongoing financial obligations, and to make choices that allow you to enjoy life?

We created Thrwa to answer that question. We built it to be the solution for anyone seeking to move from financial guesswork to confident, disciplined planning—all within an app that feels intuitive and local.

How Thrwa Started?

It all begins when Thrwa founders realized the negative impact the pandemic inflicted on the income of individuals, exacerbated by lock downs and layoffs, which created individuals with two financial states. Those who were in financial distress as a result of layoffs…and those who had financial surplus as a result of getting paid while staying home.

In both cases, the public was not financially literate enough to deal such fundamental changes. As a result, Thrwa founders realized that there is growing need for individuals to manage their personal finances and plan for future investments, to be financially healthy, reach stability and ultimately reach financial wellness.

Abdulaziz AlDelaimi, Co-founder & CEO of Thrwa

Abdulaziz AlDelaimi is the Co-founder and CEO of Thrwa, bringing 18 years of experience from the private sector, spanning finance, financial consultancy, investment advisory, and technology. A seasoned financial professional who has led numerous projects, Abdulaziz earned both a BA in Finance and an MBA with a concentration in Finance.

He is also a certified Financial Planning and Wealth Management Professional (FPWM™), certification number 114185381. His professional background includes notable tenures at institutions like the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) and Kuwait Fund, alongside roles at MENA Financial Advisory and Exante Fintech, and serving as a founding and board member at the Kuwait Society for Strategic Planning and AD Investment Advisory.

Karim ElKady, Co-Founder, Deputy CEO, and Head of Operations

Karim ElKady is a seasoned finance and investment professional with over 18 years of diversified experience across financial markets, audit, risk management, and investment advisory. Karim has cultivated deep expertise in personal finance management, portfolio structuring, and financial risk mitigation, which now forms the foundation of Thrwa’s operational and strategic direction.

Before co-founding Thrwa, he held key positions at renowned organizations, including Ernst & Young (EY) and Grant Thornton, and advised on complex regulatory cases at Meshari Al Osaimi Attorneys & Legal Consultants. Karim also worked as a professional money manager and introducing broker with international institutions like ATFX, AXI Financial, and Ingot Brokers, mentoring traders and managing portfolios across various markets. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (double major in Accounting & Financial Control and Innovation & Technology Management) from the German University in Cairo.

Karim is a Certified Operational Risk Executive (CORE 1) and a Level 2 Candidate for the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation. He uses this extensive background to oversee operations, drive innovation, and ensure Thrwa’s mission of empowering individuals to achieve financial stability is realized.
